Sunday's Coupe de France predictions including Lens vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Coupe de France fixtures, including Lens vs. Paris Saint-Germain.

Union Saint-Jean vs. Monaco (Sunday, 1.45pm)

On Sunday, in a David vs. Goliath affair, Union Saint-Jean can pull off one of the biggest upsets in Coupe de France history when they take on Monaco in the round of 64 at Stadium de Toulouse.

The amateur club held onto a 2-1 victory over Versailles to advance into this phase of the competition, while Les Monegasques lost their previous top-flight fixture 4-2 versus Paris Saint-Germain.

We say: Union Saint-Jean 0-6 Monaco

Fairy tales do not always have a happy ending, and though this match probably means a lot more to Union, they simply do not match up against even a slumping Monaco side and too many unforeseeable things must happen for them to create a massive shock.

St Etienne vs. Marseille (Sunday, 1.45pm)

Marseille will be searching for a second victory over Saint-Etienne this month when they travel to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Sunday's round of 64 Coupe de France match.

Roberto De Zerbi's men beat their hosts 2-0 on December 8 and hope for a repeat in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, despite the home side's change of head coach following Olivier Dall'Oglio's departure, as they are keen to close out 2024 with success.

We say: Saint-Etienne 1-3 Marseille

While Huard could spring tactical surprises against in-form Marseille, we expect the visitors to adapt swiftly before running away with a comfortable victory, a result that would extend their winning run against Saint-Etienne.

ASS Still Mutzig vs. Reims (Sunday, 1.45pm)

Amateur side ASS Still Mutzig can cause a gigantic upset on Sunday when they battle Reims at the Coupe de France, with that round of 64 clash occurring at Parc des Sports.

Mutzig defeated Jeunesse Evolution 4-1 to advance into this stage of the competition, while the Champagne club drew Monaco 0-0 in their previous Ligue 1 affair.

We say: ASS Still Mutzig 0-3 Reims

While they have not lit up the scoresheet lately, Reims still have their share of quality attacking players to call upon, and we believe their depth will eventually overwhelm Mutzig in this one.

Auxerre vs. Dunkerque (Sunday, 1.45pm)

Christoph Pelissier's Auxerre are set to host Dunkerque at Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps on Sunday in the Coupe de France's round of 64.

Les Diplomates are enjoying a strong first campaign back in Ligue 1 after winning the Ligue 2 title last season, and will face off against a familiar opponent when Luis Castro's second division side visit this weekend.

We say: Auxerre 1-2 Dunkerque

Both sides will be familiar with each other this weekend having met last season in Ligue 2, and Sunday's clash is likely to be another hard-fought contest.

However, it is difficult to ignore Dunkerque's excellent form, and despite the difference in divisions, the away side are certainly capable of causing problems for their hosts.

Bordeaux vs. Rennes (Sunday, 1.45pm)

Rennes make the long journey from north to south this weekend, as they face off against Bordeaux in the Coupe de France.

With a place in the round of 32 at stake, the hosts will be hoping to upset the odds against their Ligue 1 opponents.

We say: Bordeaux 0-3 Rennes

Despite the form book suggesting that Rennes struggle on the road, we think they will win comfortably here.

The gulf in quality between the Championnat National 2 and Ligue 1 should be telling, and we expect the visitors to end Bordeaux's cup dreams this weekend.

Bobigny vs. Angers (Sunday, 4.30pm)

Ligue 1 side Angers travel to the French capital this weekend, as they face off with minnows Bobigny in the Coupe de France round of 64.

The hosts will be aiming to pull off another upset in the cup this year, having already defeated Ligue 2 club Red Star on penalties in the previous round.

We say: Bobigny 0-2 Angers

Bobigny have already defied the odds to reach this stage of the competition with their impressive win against Red Star in the previous round, but we think their cup run ends here.

Angers have certainly had a difficult campaign, but they should have more than enough quality to see off Bobigny this weekend.

Lens vs. PSG (Sunday, 8.00pm)

The standout tie from the Coupe de France round of 64 will take place at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday night, when Lens host holders Paris Saint-Germain.

In just one of two all-Ligue 1 affairs, one of the competition favourites will fall at the first hurdle here, with Lens handed another arduous draw on their introduction to the tournament.

We say: Lens 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain

In front of what should be a thrilling atmosphere in Northern France, unbeaten runaway Ligue 1 leaders PSG should face a difficult encounter against Still's men, who themselves have proven difficult to beat for much of the season.

PSG have already beaten Lens this season though, as well as being on a four-game winning streak against the Blood and Gold, and they could just have enough to extend their impressive domestic unbeaten start.
