Goals from Raphael Varane and Antoine Griezmann earned France a 2-0 win over Uruguay in their World Cup quarter-final tie at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Varane got on the end of a well-delivered free kick to open the scoring 40 minutes in, before Griezmann's long-range shot somehow found a way past Fernando Muslera.
La Celeste offered little in response in the remaining half an hour, meaning that Les Blues will contest in the semis for the first time since finishing as runners-up in 2006.
