Fernando Muslera: "Low profile" suits Uruguay

Fernando Muslera says that Uruguay are happy not be among the favourites to win the World Cup.

Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera has insisted that his teammates are unconcerned by the fact that they are not considered to be among the favourites to win the World Cup this summer.

Four years ago in South Africa, Oscar Tabarez's men reached the semi-finals and then backed that up by winning the Copa America.

Even so, there is not too much expectation on the two-time world champions, but Muslera believes that the lack of pressure will suit his nation.

"Uruguay have never been favourites. I prefer to go to the tournament just like we did at South Africa, when we were the last side to qualify and few people gave us a chance of going through. This squad has always had a low profile," he told FIFA's official website.

Muslera's Uruguay begin their campaign against Costa Rica next Saturday, before taking on England and Italy.
