Aymen Abdennour: 'Valencia will react'

Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour backs his team to overcome Lyon in Tuesday's Champions League Group H match in France.

Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour has insisted that his team will "react" to their opening-day defeat to Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League.

Los Che, on their return to the competition, were beaten 3-2 by Zenit in their first Group H match, leaving them bottom of the section.

The Spanish side will have the chance to put three points on the board against Lyon this week, however, and Abdennour is confident that his team will produce a response.

"We'll react and we'll get three points. It's another game, a difficult game, but we'll endeavour to make up for what happened against Zenit," Marca quotes Abdennour as saying.

"We are progressing and we'll continue on the same line."

Valencia last competed in the group stages of the Champions League in the 2012-13 season, when they reached the last 16.
