Gary Neville "disappointed" by Valencia defeat

Valencia manager Gary Neville claims that his side's defeat to Atletico Madrid left him feeling more "disappointed" than any other game he has been involved in.

Valencia manager Gary Neville has claimed that Sunday night's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid left him feeling more "disappointed" than after any other game that he has been involved in.

Los Che were level with the La Liga title chasers heading into the final 20 minutes at the Mestalla, but goals from Fernando Torres and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco saw the visitors claim all three points.

Neville was unhappy with what he deemed to be "repeat mistakes" in the final 20 minutes of the match, but believes that his side were still worthy of a point from the game.

"Things didn't quite go for us tonight. I'm disappointed, probably the most disappointed I've been after a game," he told reporters.

"We were playing against one of the best teams in Europe tonight by the way, and for 70 minutes we gave them one of the hardest games they've had. The second goal and the sending off changed the game, that was my assessment of it.

"We were in the game and in the last 20 it went away from us. I don't like repeat mistakes and it feels the same. I felt we could have got something out of the game."

The defeat leaves Valencia 11th in the La Liga table, closer to the relegation zone than to the European places.
