Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour has confirmed that he was in talks with Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for the Tunisian international during the summer, while it is also understood that Arsenal were interested in bringing the 27-year-old to the English capital.
Abdennour ultimately remained at the Mestalla "for financial reasons", however, and the centre-back has insisted that he is committed to the Spanish outfit, where he has another four years on his current deal.
"I was negotiating with English clubs during the transfer window but for financial reasons the transfer did not happen," he is quoted as saying by Marca. "Valencia is a great club and I have no problem continuing because I have four years left on my contract."
Abdennour, whose place in the Valencia team will be challenged by on-loan Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala this season, joined Los Che from AS Monaco last summer.
