Top-flight Augsburg are set to travel to Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark, where they will take on fourth-tier side Viktoria Berlin on Sunday in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

The home side are currently seventh in the Regionalliga Northeast division and have four points after three games, while the visitors will begin their 2024-25 Bundesliga season against Werder Bremen on August 24.

We say: Viktoria Berlin 2-0 Augsburg


Although top-flight Augsburg were eliminated by a lower-league side in the DFB-Pokal last season, it would be surprising if they failed to progress past the first round for the second year in a row.

Viktoria Berlin will no doubt look to use set pieces to their advantage, and while they could prove to be stubborn opposition, the visitors' superior quality should see them emerge as victors.

Jahn vs. VfL Bochum (Sunday, 2.30pm)

In the first round of the DFB-Pokal, Bundesliga side VfL Bochum will be hoping to avoid an upset when they travel to Jahnstadion Regensburg, where they will face second-tier team Jahn Regensburg on Sunday.

The home side are currently 11th in the 2. Bundesliga and have three points after two games, while the visitors will take on RB Leipzig in their opening game of the 2024-25 top-flight season on August 24.

We say: Jahn Regensburg 1-2 VfL Bochum


Given Bochum's status as a Bundesliga side, they come into the game as undisputed favourites ahead of second-division Jahn Regensburg.

However, the visitors are fortunate to still be in the top flight, and it would not be surprising if they struggled against the hosts on Sunday.
