Wales to host Netherlands in Cardiff in November friendly

Wales announce that they will host the Netherlands in an international friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium on November 13.

The Football Association of Wales has announced that it will take on the Netherlands in an international friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium on November 13.

Manager Chris Coleman is keen to face strong opposition ahead of next year's Euro 2016 finals, a tournament which Wales have qualified for for the first time.

Netherlands finished third at last year's World Cup but will not be present next year in France after finishing fourth in Group A behind the Czech Republic, Iceland and Turkey.

Wales last met the Dutch in June 2014 in Amsterdam, when the hosts won 2-0 in their final warm-up match before the World Cup in Brazil.

"We produced an excellent display when we last met the Netherlands," Coleman told the FAW website.

"We look forward to welcoming the Dutch to Cardiff for what I'm sure will prove to be a valuable and entertaining match as we begin preparations for Euro 2016 in France."

Wales have not appeared in a major tournament since getting to the quarter-finals of the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.
