Watford have reportedly identified Benfica goalkeeper Bruno Varela as a potential signing for the summer transfer window.
Last season, Heurelho Gomes and Orestis Karnezis shared duties between the sticks, but Gomes has just one year remaining on his contract and Karnezis has returned to parent club Udinese.
The Hornets are left needing to address their long-term situation in goal and according to Record, an approach could be made for Varela.
The 23-year-old made a total of 31 appearances for Benfica during the current campaign and still has four years remaining on his contract at the Portuguese giants.
Benfica are likely to be keen to keep their recently-established number one unless Watford or any interested club are prepared to go above the club's valuation.
