Saido Berahino a doubt for Southampton visit

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis reveals that 16-goal top scorer Saido Berahino and James Morrison both face late fitness tests ahead of the match with Southampton.

West Bromwich Albion could be without top scorer Saido Berahino for the Premier League visit of Southampton on Saturday.

The 16-goal striker is still struggling with a knock sustained in a challenge with Sunderland's combative midfielder Lee Cattermole in last weekend's 0-0 draw.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has revealed that the England Under-21 international is touch and go for the game at The Hawthorns, while last-minute decisions will also be made on muscle strains hampering James Morrison and Victor Anichebe.

Pulis is quoted by the Express and Star as saying: "We've got a little knock with Morrison and Saido so we won't be sure on them until the last minute.

"The rest of them are okay. We're hoping Victor might be able to train tomorrow and that would bring another important player back into the squad.

"Berahino got a kick which he's struggling with - he got 'Cattermoled' in the first half. James felt his hamstring a little bit so we're going to have to be careful with him."

Brown Ideye and Berahino have scored six goals between them to help Albion go four games unbeaten.
