West Bromwich Albion captain Chris Brunt highlights the influence that Steven Reid has on the Baggies team.

West Bromwich Albion captain Chris Brunt has admitted that he is "delighted" by the news that teammate Steven Reid has signed a new contract.

The 32-year-old committed his future to the club with a one-year deal following the expiration of his previous contract.

"I'm delighted he's extended his stay," Brunt told the club's official website. "He's a good lad and a good pro. He's a good lad to have around. From the outside people don't probably realise how much of an affect that has on the group."

Meanwhile, reports have claimed that the Baggies are in talks with former Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.
