James Morrison criticises WBA's transfer policy, accusing the club of lacking ambition.

West Brom midfielder James Morrison has criticised his club's transfer policy, questioning the ambition of the owners.

Morrison, West Brom's stand-in skipper, has said that the owners "just settle for being in the Premier League".

The Midlands club have consistently been in between the Premier League and the Championship over the past few years. However, Morrison believes that manager Roy Hodgson can stop this trend with greater financial support.

"This club can go places but it doesn't build. We just settle for being in the Premier League," said the 25-year-old.

"I've got ambitions to progress and this club can do it. It just needs a little bit of help.

"The manager is an ambitious guy. He's been like that all through his career, and the fans deserve it as well."

Morrison joined West Brom from Middlesbrough in 2007 for an initial £1.5m.
