West Bromwich Albion chairman Jeremy Peace has revealed that he is happy with the club's business in the summer transfer window.
The Baggies signed 11 new players before Monday night's deadline, including defender Joleon Lescott from Manchester City.
While suggesting that the club has made mistakes in previous windows, Peace is pleased with how the current squad has been strengthened.
"Given the sheer volume I'm happy," he told the Birmingham Mail. "We always say every summer that the ideal situation would be to have three or four contracts to do with existing players and three or four new ones to bring in. That would be the ideal.
"You don't know what you're going to get but all you can do is trust your research and I think our research now is much better than it was previously."
West Brom are back in action on September 13 when they host Everton in the Premier League.
