Saido Berahino scored the only goal of the game as West Bromwich Albion beat West Ham United 1-0 to move a step closer to securing their Premier League status for another season.
Despite being pushed back due to a fine start from the Hammers, the hosts managed to take the lead in the 11th minute when Berahino reacted well to fire in Morgan Amalfitano's ball across the box.

Andy Carroll caused plenty of problems for the home defence in the first half, but he was left frustrated when Ben Foster managed to save a header which looked destined to find the back of the net.
The game continued to be played in open fashion, with Guy Demel firing straight at Foster before Graham Dorrans struck an effort wide in the space of a minute.
An entertaining first half ended with the Baggies ahead, and they weren't far away from doubling their advantage after the break when Stephane Sessegnon drilled a shot wide after easing past a couple of West Ham defenders.
Berahino was gifted a great opportunity to double his tally for the afternoon when Sessegnon picked him out inside the box, but the young forward could only power an effort straight at Adrian.

Carroll was inches away from punishing Pepe Mel's side for not taking their chances when he once again found space, before heading Stewart Downing's cross against the crossbar.
The Baggies eventually managed to survive the late pressure to secure a victory which edges them another step closer to safety.
