Tony Pulis reveals that he is still in the market for new recruits this summer, as he attempts to reinforce his West Bromwich Albion squad ahead of the new campaign.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has acknowledged that he is in need of "better players" if he is to improve on last season's 10th-place finish in the Premier League.

The Baggies have so far brought in three new recruits during the off-season, two of whom - Zhang Yuning and Ahmed Hegazi - arrive as unknown quantities.

Former Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez is the standalone big-name arrival at The Hawthorns so far, being signed for a fee of £12m, but Pulis is hoping to rectify that over the next five weeks by bringing in further additions.

"It will be determined by what players are available and what players we can afford," he told reporters. "You're always looking for better players, you are always looking for improvement.

"I think the team itself is waiting for better players to come in. We've got experienced players who have played for their countries - they want to see improvement year after year after year. That's what we're trying to do."

West Brom are said to have shown an interest in signing Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal, as well as Manchester United defensive duo Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
