Martin Allen tips Slaven Bilic for West Ham United job

Former West Ham United midfielder Martin Allen says that the Hammers should be looking to Slaven Bilic as Sam Allardyce's successor.

Former West Ham United midfielder Martin Allen has stated his belief that Slaven Bilic should be at the top of the club's shortlist to replace Sam Allardyce as manager.

Allardyce is expected to leave Upton Park this summer after four years in charge, with the club's hierarchy said to be keen on making a managerial change.

Bilic, who spent 18 months at West Ham during his playing career, had enjoyed successful stints as manager of Hajduk Split, Croatia and Lokomotiv Moscow before joining current club Besiktas.

"Slaven Bilic has been a world class footballer and was a tremendous servant to West Ham United," Allen told talkSPORT.

"He's a very intelligent man, in business and in football. He would be one you would look at."

Bilic has been in charge of Besiktas since 2013.
