Stuart Pearce: 'I've had no contact with West Ham United'

Former England defender Stuart Pearce states that he has had no contact with West Ham United, despite reports linking him with a coaching role at the Premier League club.

Former England defender Stuart Pearce has denied that he has had any contact with West Ham United over a potential coaching role at the club.

The Hammers sacked manager Slaven Bilic on Monday morning following a troubling run of form, leading numerous reports to suggest that the club is aiming to bring in former Manchester United boss David Moyes as early as Tuesday.

Some sources have also suggested that Pearce could join Moyes at the club as part of the Scotsman's coaching staff, but the former Manchester City boss has since moved to state that he has not held talks with West Ham.

"I've had no contact with West Ham if that's what you mean," Pearce told talkSPORT. "But if I had contact with them I would certainly go and talk to them."

Pearce featured for West Ham between 1999 and 2001 under the guidance of then-coach Harry Redknapp.
