Burnley beat the Hammers after twice taking the lead at Upton Park.

Eddie Howe's Clarets side twice took the lead at Upton Park en route to a 2-1 win over West Ham this afternoon.

Matt Taylor came closest for the home side in the first half. Carlton Cole dispossessed the Clarets in midfield and crossed the ball towards the former Bolton man, who put his shot wide of the mark.

West Ham captain Kevin Nolan put his side ahead after the break, racing onto the end of a long pass and lobbing goalkeeper Lee Grant.

However, Chris McCann was able to tie the score within five minutes, heading former Hammer Junior Stanislas's cross past Robert Green and into the top corner.

With 15 minutes remaining, on-loan Wolves forward Sam Vokes put the visitors back in front with their second headed goal of the game – this time from Ross Wallace's outswinging corner – to seal the win.
