West Ham United have suffered their first defeat of pre-season with a 4-1 loss to Mainz 05 in Germany.
Dani Schahin's calm finish gave the hosts the lead before Nicolai Muller made it 2-0 with 20 minutes on the clock.
The Hammers were given some hope early in the second half when Joe Cole's volley found the net, but a Shawn Parker penalty saw Mainz restore their two-goal lead.
The scoring was complete 10 minutes from time as Sebastian Polter converted Parker's cross.
