Team News: Stewart Downing returns for West Ham United

Stewart Downing returns to the West Ham United starting XI for his first appearance since suffering an injury while playing for England earlier this month.

West Ham United midfielder Stewart Downing has returned to the starting XI to face Newcastle United this afternoon after overcoming a knee injury.

Cheikhou Kouyate and Matt Jarvis also come in to the side, with Winston Reid, Kevin Nolan and Carlton Cole the ones to miss out.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew, meanwhile, also makes three changes as he looks to extend his side's winning streak to seven matches in all competitions.

In come Rob Elliot, Cheick Tiote and Yoan Gouffran for Tim Krul, Ryan Taylor and Remy Cabella.

The Magpies are unbeaten in their last three visits to West Ham.
