Nottingham Forest have reportedly set their sights on free agent Carlton Cole.
The 29-year-old has been released by West Ham United after seven years of service to the club, which included a goal in last year's Championship playoff final against Blackpool.
According to talkSPORT, Forest boss Billy Davies is keen on recruiting the striker to the City Ground, but the Scot is understood to be facing competition from newly-promoted Crystal Palace.
Cole, who started his career with Chelsea in 2001, has also been linked with a switch to the MLS.
