West Ham United open talks with Nicky Maynard

West Ham United are believed to be in negotiations with Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs this month, including West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite interest from a number of clubs, it appears that the frontman is closing in on a switch to the Hammers, according to Sky Sports News.

The former Arsenal youth player was poised to join Wigan Athletic until a proposed move fell through.
