West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly ready to make Reims goalkeeper Edouard Mendy his first signing for the club.
The Hammers are aiming to secure the Guinea-Bissau international's services in a deal worth £2m, according to The Mirror.
Pellegrini, however, could face competition for Mendy's services, with Newcastle United also said to be interested in the goalkeeper.
Mendy earned critical acclaim throughout Reims's promotion-winning season, keeping 17 clean sheets during their successful Ligue 2 campaign.
West Ham are seeking a new goalkeeper due to Joe Hart's loan spell from Manchester City expiring and doubts over Adrian's consistency.
