Western Sydney Wanderers earned their first win of the A-League season by defeating Perth Glory 1-0 thanks to a strike from Dario Vidosic.
The home side were the first to threaten when Mitch Nichols raided into the box and from a tight angle tried to lift the ball over Ante Covic, but the keeper managed to make the stop.

Covic kept the scores level as he produced another fine save to deny Vidosic in the 28th minute after the forward had latched onto a loose ball in the box and fired an effort towards the bottom corner.
Wanderers pressed forward through Scott Jamieson down the right and he sent a dangerous cross into the box for the run of Dimas, but the midfielder could only guide his header over the bar.
The home side finally took the lead just before half time when the visitors failed to clear a corner into the box, and Vidosic collected the ball before rifling a strike into the bottom corner.
Vidosic had the chance to double the Wanderers' advantage in the second half when he made a run to the near post to latch onto a low ball into the area from Jamieson, only to put his effort wide of the post.
Sydney should have ended the game as Jamieson caused further havoc down the flank before he fired a low ball across the face of goal that Brendon Santalab made an attempt to guide into the net, but the ball missed his outstretched leg by millimetres.
Perth committed numbers forward in the dying minutes, but they could not find a breakthrough, allowing the hosts to hold out for their first victory of the campaign.
The result moves Wanderers above Perth in the table into seventh place, with the Glory dropping to eighth.
