Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle has insisted that a number of his players, in particular Grant Holt, could be under consideration for the England squad.
Coyle praised England boss Roy Hodgson for selecting the in-form Rickie Lambert, who scored soon after coming off the substitutes' bench on his debut against Scotland.
"I had it myself when I was manager at Bolton - one of the very pleasing things was Kevin Davies got his England cap because he was in terrific form," Sky Sports News quotes Coyle as saying.
"There's always people looking at certain types of strikers but the bottom line is if someone is in good form, as Rickie Lambert has been, then they are deserving of a chance.
"All credit to Roy Hodgson, he gave him his opportunity and Rickie Lambert seized it with both hands and I've got no doubt there's players littered throughout the country that could [play for England) if they are given that opportunity. We've got a number here, there's no doubt about that."
Coyle took over Wigan in the summer following Roberto Martinez's move to Everton.
