Owen Coyle has hinted that he would be interested in becoming the new Wigan Athletic manager.
The former Bolton Wanderers boss, who has been out of work since he was dismissed from the Reebok Stadium last October, has been touted as a possible contender for the post due to the impending departure of Roberto Martinez.
"Papers link you with many things but if I'm linked with this job then I'm flattered," Coyle told BBC Radio Five Live. "It's a fantastic football club I know very well from my time with Burnley and Bolton.
"In the North-West there is a strong connection. Wigan Athletic have got some great players and have an outstanding chairman in Dave Whelan. It's probably the best job going."
Martinez is expected to be named the new manager of Everton this week.
