Roberto Martinez has urged Wigan forward Hugo Rodallega to "get back to his best".

The 26-year-old, currently in the final year of his contract at the club, has yet to find the back of the net in the 2011/12 campaign after struggling to recover from an early season knee injury.

However, Martinez insists that he can be a "special player" for the Latics going forward.

"Hugo felt too much pressure to score goals and that was unfair," the Spaniard told The Sun. "He now has to get back to his best and, when Hugo is back to his best, he can be a special player so we need him to get to that level.

"He's in the last year of his contract and sometimes that can put extra pressure on your performances. But all he needs to do is work hard for the team and everything will be taken care of."

Wigan will look to move off the bottom of the table with a win at West Brom this weekend.
