Wigan Athletic are holding contract talks with Victor Moses to extend his stay at the DW Stadium.
The 20-year-old midfielder's current deal ends in 2013, but Latics boss Roberto Martinez is keen for the Nigerian to put pen to paper on new terms.
"We've got a few young players with big roles," said Martinez.
"It's important we get stability in their careers so they can concentrate on football. Victor is very much in that category.
"Victor only wants to concentrate on football and the level of football he has shown in starting the first three games has been really, really good. It is now time to kick on."
Moses signed for the Premier League side from Crystal Palace in February 2010 for £2.5m.
