Willem II are on course to secure a top-half finish in the Eredivisie after claiming a narrow 1-0 victory against ADO Den Haag at the Koning Willem II Stadion.

The hosts were the more dangerous team as Stijn Wuytens twice came close to opening the scoring, although Den Haag defender Vito Wormgoor fired a free kick into the wall and then headed over from a corner just before the break.

Nevertheless, Willem took the lead on the hour when a defensive error allowed Samuel Armenteros to bear down on goal and slot past goalkeeper Robert Zwinkels.

The visitors were unable to muster up a reply, allowing Jurgen Streppel's charges to secure all three points and move level with ninth-placed Groningen in the Eredivisie table.
