Simon Kjaer and Thomas Kahlenberg are left out of Morten Olsen's Denmark squad due to doubt over their futures with Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg duo Simon Kjaer and Thomas Kahlenberg have been left out of Morten Olsen's Denmark squad due to their expected transfers.

Kjaer has been on the verge of leaving since being demoted to Wolfsburg's reserve squad after declaring that he would never play under Felix Magath ever again.

The 23-year-old centre-back spent last year on loan at Roma and was expected to sign for Fenerbahce until the move fell through.

Meanwhile, Kahlenberg, who loaned out to Ligue 1 side Evian last season, has failed to make an impression in the Bundesliga since his 2009 transfer from Auxerre.

Evian are believed to be keen on a permanent transfer for the 29-year-old midfielder.
