Half-Time Report: Nouha Dicko strikes to cancel out Newport County lead

Nouha Dicko cancels out Scott Boden's header as Wolverhampton Wanderers reach the break level at 1-1 with Newport County.

Nouha Dicko's strike has ensured that Wolverhampton Wanderers are level at 1-1 against Newport County in their League Cup first-round clash at Molineux.

The hosts were shocked by an impressive start from Newport, who were in front in just the sixth minute when Scott Boden found the space to head home from close range.

An impressive piece of play from Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo, who had seen Joe Day keep out his free kick moments earlier, allowed Wolves to get back on level terms as he created the room for a cross which was turned home by Dicko.

Wolves should have been ahead when Conor Coady sent Benik Afobe through on goal, but the striker could only fire his effort straight at a relieved Day.

Ojo looked capable of producing another moment of magic for the hosts as Newport held on late in the first half to enter the break on level terms.
