Live Commentary: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Leicester City - as it happened

Sports Mole provides live text commentary on the Championship clash between Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City at Molineux.

Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live text commentary of the Championship clash between Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City at Molineux.

Both sides have made modest starts to the new season and sit 23rd and 14th respectively in the table.

However, Wolves are unbeaten in their opening two home league games, while the Foxes have lost both of their away outings in the Championship thus far.

More good news for the hosts is that captain Karl Henry is one of four players that have overcome an injury in time today's match. Kevin Foley, Razak Boukari and Bjorn Sigurdarson are also fit to return.

3.17pmThat concludes Sports Mole's coverage from Molineux. Join us again shortly, as we build up to Tottenham Hotspur's visit to Reading in the Premier League.

3.16pmWolves move up to 10th place in the Championship table, while Leicester slip to 16th on goal difference.

3.15pmWolves goalscorer Richard Stearman: "I had 10 great years at Leicester, so it was a mark of respect not to celebrate."

3.13pmWinning captain Karl Henry: "It was an important game for us. We've had a bit of a bad spell, so it's a big win for us. We dominated the first half and deserved to be 2-0 up at the break. They came back into it in the second half, but I think we deserved to win.

Full time Result: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Leicester City

90+5minSako drags his shot wide from 20 yards and that should be the end of the game.

90+4minDe Laet has disappeared down the tunnel and Leicester will have to play the remaining moments a man light.

90+3minLeicester are currently down to 10 men, as De Laet is off the pitch and receiving treatment.

90minThe fourth official has indicated that there will be a minimum of five minutes added time.

90minWolves go close! Sigurdarson jinks into the Leicester six-yard box, before firing across the face of goal. Moore touches it back to his goalkeeper, who does well to prevent an own goal.

89minWolves have managed to take a bit of the sting out of the game. They are keeping possession well inside the Leicester half.

86minBig Wes Morgan is currently playing as a makeshift centre-forward for Leicester.

84minChance for Wolves! In space, Doyle fires straight at the goalkeeper from 12 yards.

80minBOOKING! Karl Henry is shown a yellow card for an untidy challenge on James.

80minWOODWORK!. Leicester are piling on the pressure right now. Marshall slips a clever ball through to Waghorn and the former Sunderland striker drives against the foot of the near post from seven yards. He should have scored!

78minChance for Leicester! Overlapping full-back De Laet crosses for Nugent and the forward's nodded header bounces inches wide. Ikeme was nowhere near it.

76minANOTHER SUBSTITUTION. Wolves make their final change, as Bjorn Sigurdarson replaces Ebanks-Blake, who is given a standing ovation.

74minSUBSTITUTION. Abdoulrazak Boukhari replaces Peszko for Wolves.

72minSUBSTITUTION. Martin Waghorn comes on for Vardy, as Leicester make their final change. Meanwhile, Ikeme has been healed it would seem.

71minGoalkeeper Ikeme, who was blamelessly beaten by that superb strike, looks to have picked up an injury and is receiving treatment in the six-yard box.

70minGoal for Leicester! Konchesky fires his side back into contention with a left-footed 30-yard rocket. Wolves 2-1 Leicester.

66minSUBSTITUTION. Wolves make their first change of the game. David Edwards comes on for Doumbia, who appears be limping.

64minHuge chance for Leicester! Ritchie De Laet crosses deep towards Nugent. The ball spins off Nugent's head and falls to Knockaert, whose shot from close range is blocked.

60minPenalty appeal! Peszko plummets to the ground on the edge of the area following minimal contact from Marshall. Nothing given. Correct decision.

58minNugent is shown a yellow card for talking too much.

57minChance for Wolves! Ebanks-Blake finds Sako on the left side of the six-yard box. The Frenchman fires a low shot from a narrow angle and Schmeichel makes a good block.

51minSako forces a good low save from Schmeichel. He looks to be very useful with the dead ball.

Half timeWolves 2-0 Leicester. The hosts have found the net from two set pieces and hold a comfortable lead at the break, despite the first 45 minutes being a rather even battle for the most part.

45minThe fourth official has indicated that there will be a minimum of two minutes added time.

44minChance for Leicester! Nugent is sent clear by Lloyd Dyer but the one-time England international fires high and wide from just inside the penalty area.

43minChance for Wolves! Ebanks-Blake plays a neat ball through to Doyle. The Irishman's initial effort is parried by Schmeichel and his second is well blocked by Wes Morgan.

40minSako's tame delivery is emphatically hacked away at the near post.

39minStrong play from Sako wins Wolves their third corner of the game.

35minMarshall tries his luck for Leicester with a low 30-yard drive. Ikeme makes an easy save.

31minSUBSTITUTION. Leicester are forced to withdraw King, who appears to be struggling with a hamstring problem. Matthew James replaces him.

30minThe corner is disappointing and comes to nothing.

29minCLOSE! Marshall cuts inside onto his left foot and produces a super curling effort that Wolves keeper Ikeme tips over.

27minSchmeichel makes a commanding punch and Leicester launch a counter-attack. They work the ball to Vardy, who is denied by a strong tackle from last-man Stephen Ward.

26minSlawomir Peszko wins another corner for Wolves.

22minLeicester will be very disappointed with how they have conceded. They have looked quite comfortable in open play, but have failed to deal with two simple set pieces.

20minGOAL for Wolves! 2-0 Sako's corner is flicked on by Doyle to Richard Stearman, who volleys home off the underside of the crossbar from five yards out.

19minSAVE! Doyle collects a loose ball 20 yards from goal and bends a fierce left-footed strike that Kasper Schmeichel does excellently to turn around the post for a corner.

15minWolves' high line is looking very vulnerable. Moore lumps forward once again and David Nugent is not far from latching onto it. Nugent is one short of 100 career goals.

13minGOAL for Wolves! 1-0 Sako whips in a deep cross and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake powerfully heads home at the far post.

12minSako is fouled by Ben Marshall and Wolves have a free kick 30 yards out on the left.

10minCHANCE for Leicester! Andy King makes a strong run forward, but his shot from five yards is well blocked.

8minCHANCE for Leicester! A hopeful long ball from Liam Moore sends Jamie Vardy through the middle. Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme comes out and heads away on the edge of his area.

6minBakary Sako goes for goal and is about a yard wide. Good effort.

5minPaul Konchesky catches Doyle late and Wolves have a free kick 25 yards from goal. Konchesky is a very lucky boy not to be shown a card, players have walked for less than that.

3minThe ball has spent a lot of time in the air so far and the home crowd seem a little edgy already.

0minLeicester City get us underway...

1.14pmThe Wolves bench looks empty without Terry Connor on it. It will be interesting to see if his departure has a positive effect on the team's performances.

1.13pmThe teams are out and everyone is shaking hands, how nice.

1.10pmLeicester boss Nigel Pearson: "We have to make sure we concentrate on ourselves. We must be aware of them too, but we are in good form."

1.08pmWolves boss Stale Solbakken on Karl Henry's return to the starting XI: "Karl is the leader and he has it in the mouth to communicate."

1.05pmBack to the present, where both sets of players have finished their warmups and kick-off is just 10 minutes away.

1.02pmThat solitary Wolves win occurred on Saturday October 25 2003 and was arguably one of the most memorable games in Premier League history. Trailing 3-0 at half time, Dave Jones's men produced a stunning second-half comeback and won 4-3, courtesy of goals from Alex Rae, Henri Camara and a Colin Cameron double.

12.57pmWolves have only beaten Leicester once in their last eight attempts at Molineux, losing five and drawing two.

12.55pmThis will be their first meeting in five years. Both games in the 2007/08 season were drawn.

12.53pmNow for a bit of a history lesson. These two clubs have met on 100 occasions in English football over the last 106 years. Wolves have won 35, drawn 31 and lost 34.
