Wolverhampton Wanderers continue with first-team training despite a Europe-wide shutdown of competitive football action.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have resumed first-team training today despite the Premier League being cancelled for the rest of the month due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have already played more fixtures than any of their top-flight rivals this season thanks to an extended run in the Europa League but have decided to continue as normal with training.

According to the Daily Mail, all "non-essential" staff have been told to stay away from the club's Compton base as nationwide social distancing measures begin to come into force in an effort to contain the disease.

Nuno and Wolves chairman Jeff Shi believe that keeping the players' fitness levels up is of paramount importance for when competitive action resumes, if at all.

The Midlands side are halfway through their Europa League last-16 tie with Olympiacos while they still have a shot at qualifying for the Champions League through the league, sitting sixth in the table with nine games remaining.
