Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Matt Doherty has revealed that he hopes to further his development after signing a new contract at the club.
Doherty has committed himself to Molineux until 2016, and the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has admitted that he is hopeful he can establish himself as the best full-back in League One over the next eight months.
The 21-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "With my future secured, the aim for me is to be the best right-back I can possibly be, and why not try to be the best right-back in the league?
"I've really enjoyed my football since getting into the team towards the end of last season and I have managed to keep it going this season.
"Now I've just got to keep working as hard as I can and keep improving to help the team in our bid to be promoted this season."
Doherty has made 26 appearances for Wolves.
