Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett admits that he is excited about the prospect of working with some of the club's younger players.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has revealed that he is interested to see how his young strikers perform in pre-season.

Despite the departure of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Jackett has Leigh Griffiths, Bjorn Sigurdarson, Jake Cassidy and Liam McAlinden at his disposal, and the former Millwall boss believes that they could be capable of leading the line in League One.

The 51-year-old told the Express & Star: "There are some very good young players here ready to play in the first team and indeed that have been playing in the first team.

"That's a positive. I think our forward line with some of the younger players is very promising. Leigh Griffiths is an exciting player and I'm looking forward to seeing him and working with him.

"Jake Cassidy did well in League One last year and Liam McAlinden got in at Wolves just at the end and is an honest lad. Bjorn Sigurdarson is also still only 22, and in terms of young players, there are four straight away and it will be very interesting to see how they respond."

Irish forward Kevin Doyle is also at Molineux, but he is expected to leave the club during the summer.
