Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Joe Mason has admitted that he had been growing frustrated with his goalless streak at Molineux before his strike against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Mason's finish from outside the box was cancelled out by Gary Gardner but the former Cardiff City man was delighted to net for the first time since February 13.
The 24-year-old told the Express & Star: "It's a big relief. I'm not going to lie, it's been a while. I've been itching to get one, it was nice to see it go in. I've had a few chances in recent weeks which are the sort of chances I usually take.
"It's a monkey off my back and I can kick on and hopefully get another next week. It's not my typical sort of goal but I was really happy to score."
Mason has scored just three goals in 15 appearances since moving to the West Midlands outfit in January.
