Mick McCarthy has apologised to Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters after they witnessed a 5-1 thrashing by rivals West Bromwich Albion at Molineux this afternoon.
Peter Odemwingie netted a hat-trick for the Baggies as they claimed the Black Country bragging rights and condemned Wolves to a place in the bottom three.
"It is an understatement to say it has been a disappointing afternoon," McCarthy told Sky Sports News.
"It turned out to be a terrible afternoon, a disgraceful afternoon, in terms of our performance.
"It was an awful performance and, I don't often do it, but I'll apologise for that one to everyone who was here watching - our fans."
Wolves return to Premier League action at Newcastle United on February 25.
