Midfielder Kevin McDonald has insisted that leaving Sheffield United for Wolverhampton is the "right step" in his career.
McDonald has signed a three-year deal at Molineux, and the Scot has revealed that he is excited to join the club at a time where they are targeting an immediate return to the Championship.
The 24-year-old told the Express & Star: "It was a tough decision and it's been going on for five days now. It was tough to say goodbye, but I think that this is the right step and, hopefully, I can kick on.
"Wolves are such a big club and speaks for itself – only a couple of years ago they were in the Premier League. The new gaffer wants to get the club back there as soon as possible and I'm excited to be part of something here.
"I met the gaffer on Friday and he's stayed in touch and told me what he wants to do here and I've taken it all on board."
The former Burnley man scored five times in 91 appearances during his two-year stay at Bramall Lane.
