Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo praises his side's "relentless" attitude after they salvaged a 1-1 draw with Preston North End on Saturday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo has praised his side's "relentless" attitude after they salvaged a 1-1 draw with Preston North End on Saturday.

Preston, who had been defeated just once in 16 games going into Saturday's match, took the lead early on after the half-time break through Alan Browne.

The hosts had a man sent off once in the lead, however, before Helder Costa equalised for Wolves with his second goal in as many matches.

"I'm very proud of the attitude of the team and the work of the boys," Nuno told the Express & Star. "We were relentless - this is the word, relentless. Everybody knew Preston, their form (one defeat in 16) says a lot. We have to give credit to them. After the red card they dropped and defended well.

"It was a tough game, a physical game. The boys, everybody thought we were closest to winning the game. Playing against one man less requires a different approach. I think we did well - we created enough chances to win it.

"I'm not happy with the result, we prepare every game to win. We have to take a look at what happened today and get better for next time."

Wolves are back in action on Wednesday with a home fixture against Norwich City.
