Dean Saunders delighted with Hull City win

Dean Saunders shares his delight after Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a nerve-wracking win over Hull City.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Dean Saunders has praised his players and the backing of a passionate Molineux crowd following their 1-0 win over Hull City tonight.

Kevin Doyle's second-half strike gave Wolves a fourth win in six and allowed them to climb out of the bottom three on goal difference.

Saunders has admitted that his nerves were tested to the limit late on this evening but has credited his players for rising to the challenge against promotion-chasing Hull.

In his post-match press conference the Wolves boss said: "I'm delighted with my players after a massive kick in the teeth on Saturday. Things went for us with them hitting the post and Derby equalising at Barnsley.

"I'm delighted but it's not good for your health. We decided to let Hull have the ball to save players' legs and it paid off in the end. They were restricted to one real chance against the post in the second half.

"Our fans deserve great credit, their support in the last 10 minutes made a massive difference for the players."

Wolves continue their fight for survival with a trip to The Valley on Saturday to face Charlton Athletic.
