Steve Morgan, the owner of Wolverhampton Wanderers, reportedly went into the dressing room after his side's 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday to deliver a 'scathing' attack on the players.
The result at Molineux has seen Wolves slip to 19th in the Premier League table.
Morgan, who is thought to visit the dressing room before matches, took the unprecedented step of addressing the players after the match, according to The Guardian.
Manager Mick McCarthy later admitted that the performance, which earned the team a chorus of boos after the match, was "unacceptable".
Wolves travel to Queens Park Rangers in the league on Saturday.
