Wolves took the lead in the 12th minute when Kevin Foley overlapped Jermaine Pennant and crossed for Bakary Sako, who volleyed past Alex Hamer.
Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme was then beaten by a Salim Kerkar long-range effort but it curled just wide of the post as Wolves went in ahead after 45 minutes.
The home side had the ball in the net early on in the second period but Tongo Doumbia's shot hit the offside Kevin Doyle on the way through.
Charlton made Wolves pay by getting back on level terms moments later when Rob Hulse saw his shot blocked and Lawrie Wilson was on hand to tuck home the loose ball.
Both sides had chances to win it late on but Hulse and Sako squandered opportunities as the spoils were shared.
Wolves drop out of the playoff places while Charlton edge closer to the relegation zone.
