Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe is rumoured to be considering a return to former club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe has been tipped to rejoin Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to a report.

The 24-year-old left Molineux in January 2016 after Premier League side Bournemouth agreed a fee with Wolves, in the region of a then-club record figure of £8m.

Afobe has scored 23 goals in 48 games for Wolves, but in the same number of appearances for the Cherries, he has bagged just 10 and is currently on the fringes of the first team.

According to the Express & Star, a move back to Wolverhampton might appeal to Afobe, given the club's new ownership and renewed aspirations of a return to the top flight.

The report also points out that Sky Bet have installed Wolves as 6/4 favourites to sign the striker, while West Bromwich Albion are quoted at a distant 16/1.

Wolves have been busy in the transfer market this summer, having already recruited Roderick Miranda, Barry Douglas, Ryan Bennett and Phil Ofosu-Ayeh.
