Bruno Lage has acknowledged that Wolverhampton Wanderers are under pressure to make new signings during the January transfer window.
Despite Wolves earning a goalless draw at home to Burnley on Wednesday night, selection issues meant that Lage could include just three outfield players with Premier League experience on the substitutes' bench.
That was partly down to Daniel Podence and Marcal having recently tested positive for coronavirus, and Lage has hinted that it is a reminder that Wolves cannot afford to be inactive next month.
The Portuguese is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "If I was concerned two weeks ago, you can imagine what I am in this moment. Let's continue, that's all I can say.
"This is why I said to you that this is the big challenge for us – for me, my staff and the squad – in December and January."
Of all the absentees, Ruben Neves, who served a one-match ban, may be the only player to return for Saturday's meeting with Liverpool.
