Kenny Jackett: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers to target experienced players'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett says that the club will look to add experienced players to the first-team squad ahead of next season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has suggested that the club need to add experience to the first-team squad in order to mount a promotion challenge in the Championship.

The Molineux outfit could only finish in 14th position in the standings this season after injuries and off-the-field uncertainty hindered their bid to make the playoffs, but Jackett says that he knows what his side require ahead of the next campaign.

The 54-year-old told the Express & Star: "Sometimes during the course of this season I've watched players learning. We want people that are ready now.

"I don't want to take away from what I consider to be a very good youth policy. Wolves has a very good youth policy and there are good players in the system at all ages.

"It's an asset for the club. But our youth policy on its own isn't enough. It isn't enough to get us to where we want to go."

Jackett has spent three years at Wolves, guiding the club to the League One title and seventh place in the Championship before their inconsistent performances over the past 12 months.
