Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken has admitted that he will allow Sam Vokes to leave the club if an acceptable offer is received.
The Welsh striker has failed to establish himself at Molineux since agreeing to join the club from Bournemouth in 2008.
Having held discussions with the 22-year-old, Solbakken has revealed that Wolves will not stand in the way of Vokes continuing his career elsewhere.
"For Sam I think it is best to find a new challenge," Solbakken told the club's official website. "I have spoken to him about that and we have had an honest, open discussion.
"If an offer is right and Sam is happy and we are happy he will be allowed to leave on a permanent basis.
"We haven't had any offers to date but just had an open chat with Sam two days ago about what is best for him and for us."
Vokes has scored nine goals during his four-year stint with the Championship side.
