Wolverhampton Wanderers launch €50m bid for Benfica duo?

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly prepared to spend €50m on Benfica duo Anderson Talisca and Andre Carrillo.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly signalled their willingness to spend €50m (£43.2m) on Benfica duo Anderson Talisca and Andre Carrillo.

The Championship outfit have been linked with Talisca ever since they were taken over by Fosun International last month, and the €25m (£21.6m) transfer is expected to be completed this week if claims that the midfielder will fly to England prove correct.

However, the move for Carrillo is another sign that the Chinese investment company are prepared to provide the funds to bring world-renowned players to the West Midlands and it is said that they would pay €25m to sign the Peruvian striker.

According to Portuguese outlet Diario de Noticias, however, any bid is likely to be rejected, with Benfica likely to demand at least €30m (£25.9m) and the player not wanting to drop down to the English second tier.

Carrillo spent five years with Sporting Lisbon before joining Benfica this summer.
