Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that they have made a "significant bid" for Cardiff City striker Joe Mason.
The 24-year-old has been with the Bluebirds since 2011, but during that time he has had three separate loan spells at Bolton Wanderers.
He could now be about to depart the South Wales outfit on a permanent basis, with Wolves having revealed that they are in "advanced negotiations" with the frontman.
"Wolves can confirm they are in advanced discussions with Cardiff City after making a significant bid for striker Joe Mason," read a statement on the club's official Twitter fee.
According to the Express & Star, Wolves have agreed to pay their Championship counterparts £3m for Mason's signature.
Should the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international arrive at Molineux he will act as a replacement for Benik Afobe, who joined Premier League side Bournemouth earlier this month.
