Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford are allegedly keen on signing Royal Antwerp defender Aurelio Buta.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford are reportedly interested in signing Royal Antwerp defender Aurelio Buta.

With both clubs having so far failed to replicate their efforts from last season, transfer targets are being identified ahead of the January window.

According to the Daily Mail, Buta is on the radar of the Premier League duo after producing a number of standout performances in Belgium.

The 22-year-old has made 49 appearances for Antwerp since 2017, having initially joined the club on loan from Benfica before penning a permanent deal the following year.

The former Portugal Under-20 international, who has a contract at Antwerp until 2021, may cost in the region of £5m.
