Halifax have gone into half time against Wrexham with a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Danny Schofield.
Wrexham began the game on top, with Louis Moult seeing a header tipped over the crossbar, but Halifax took the lead in the fifth minute when Schofield made ground inside the penalty area before driving the ball into the bottom corner.
The goal handed the momentum to the hosts and they almost had a second through Adam Smith, but he fired wide after a short free kick.
Moult, Wrexham's top scorer this season with six goals, was proving to be the Welsh side's biggest threat, and moments after he nearly provided an assist, his well-struck shot was dealt with by Matt Glennon.
Wrexham thought they had equalised with nine minutes of the half remaining but their effort was ruled out for a push on a Halifax defender.
The Red Dragons were proving to be the better side heading into the break, but after Connor Jennings had fired a free kick skywards, Halifax were able to make it to half time.
